Argus Crypto Tracker

Support & help

Argus is a crypto portfolio tracker that keeps your financial data on your device. No account, no sign-in, no ads, no analytics.

Getting started

Argus opens on live market prices, so there's nothing to set up before it's useful. To track what you own, there are three ways in — easiest first:

Common questions

Do I need an account?

No. Argus has no accounts, no sign-in, and no server. Nothing to create and nothing to remember.

Where is my data stored?

Only on your device. Deleting the app deletes your portfolio. To clear it without deleting the app, use + → Clear all.

Does wallet import need my seed phrase or private key?

Never. Argus only accepts a public address and only reads public balances from block explorers. It cannot move funds and never asks for a key.

A price is missing, or my net worth looks wrong.

Prices come from CoinGecko's public API. If a request fails or is rate-limited, Argus shows a notice with a Retry button rather than pretending the value is zero. Very small or newly listed coins may not be in the top 1,000 by market cap and won't have a live price — you can still enter one by hand when adding the holding.

Why didn't my price alert fire the second the price moved?

Alerts are checked by a background task that iOS schedules when it sees fit (typically when the device is idle or charging), so they arrive shortly after a move rather than to the second. Argus also re-checks every time you open it. All alerts are evaluated on your device and delivered as local notifications.

My realized gains changed when I switched cost-basis method.

That's expected. FIFO, LIFO, and HIFO match sales against different purchase lots, which moves gains between realized and unrealized. It never changes what you own. Argus is a tracker, not tax software — check with a professional before filing anything.
